Hi! My name is Sam! I’m an NYC-based performer, born and raised in Tempe, AZ. I began performing at age 5 when my parents heard me playing “Rock Lobster” by The B-52’s on the piano by ear. After that, they enrolled me in piano lessons, voice lessons, choirs, and community theatre! I realized that my calling in life was to make art on stage, so I moved to NYC to study Vocal Performance: Musical Theatre at NYU!
Part of what makes me unique is the natural timbre of my voice, which marries both styles of singing in traditional and contemporary musical theatre. I'm also coached in pop/rock, R&B, jazz, and classical vocalisms, and am trained in many styles of dance. I can take center stage or be a fierce ensemble member — I pride myself on being a versatile performer who learns quickly!
